AGL Serves Food at the Salvation Army

As part of our ongoing commitment to help the Salvation Army of Martinsville and Henry County AGL VA employees voulenteered on June 10, 2015. Employees helped to prepare a meal of tacos as well as desert to help feed those in need in the Martinsville and Henry County area. The employees also served the meal to over 30 people. AGL VA has committed to make this a monthly event to help give back in our local community.

Lunch at the Salvation Army

On Friday, May 15, 2015, AGL VA employees volunteered at the local Salvation Army. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Salvation Army serves a free lunch to the community. Volunteers cooked and served lunch to the community, and cleaned up afterwards. A lunch of baked spaghetti, garlic bread and salad was served. AGL VA has committed to adopting a day every month to prepare lunch for the community with the Salvation Army.

AGL Charlotte Office Volunteered with the PinkySwear Tri@Trump Weekend

AGL-CLT was privileged to volunteer with the PinkySwear Tri@Trump Weekend. The festivities included a Kid’s triathlon on Saturday and on Sunday a Sprint triathlon. The proceeds of this wonderful event went toward the PickySwear Foundation which assists children battling cancer and their families. We were able to assist with the running course and directed the kids around the course. In addition, we were able to work the booth for the Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids. AGL-CLT has worked with them for the past 3 years and will continue to assist with upcoming events this year.

We are also proud to say that one of your employees, Rob Van Dyke participated in the Sprint Triathlon on Sunday and did an awesome job completing the race in a personal best time. We are so proud of him. Great job, Rob.

This was the first year that PinkySwear ventured out their of home state of Minnesota and this was the first event of 12 being done throughout the USA this year. This event was able to contribute in excess of $ 20000 to the PinkySwear Foundation.

The Pinky Swear Triathlon is the largest kids fundraising triathlon in the country. “Kids racing to help kids who can’t” is a testament to the compassion and endurance of today’s youth in helping kids with cancer and their families meet basic needs such as housing, food, and transportation.
